Race 1 - (1) DASHMIRA is riding a solid form spree now, doing all of his damage at this level. He draws well to boot. (3) SHOCK N ROCK showed a solid closing move from a poor position in his latest. Better striking position should be in the offing tonight. (5) NEXT ISSUE dueled early before settling into the pocket in his last. He finished well in what was an improved effort
Race 2 - (6) MOST WANTED LINDY drops in class after a string of even efforts against tougher. The veteran is worth a long look. (2) ILL STAY HERE had been improving until a scratch sick and poor post draw in her latest. Maybe she picks up where she left off. (1) EXCUSE ME PLEASE appears to fit better against these claiming conditioned types.
Race 3 - (2) BUCIZE ROCK is back down to a level where he’s had success. He was solid last out against tougher. (1) BOOTS N BRIAN has been racing evenly as of late at this level. He gets a post draw and a pretty manageable field here. (4) ONE WARRAWEE gets MacDonald back after a tough trip with no position in his last. It seems he’s starting to come forward over his last few starts.
Race 4 - (6) ESQUIRE was a beaten favorite at this level two starts back. He’s got wins at this class deeper in his lines. (4) ASA ONAMISSION was claimed two starts back off a strong effort, and promptly broke for new connections in his most recent. We expect better here. (2) PUKKA takes on tougher after an easy win in his last. He draws well and should be a factor from this spot.
Race 5 - (5) LIL BEAU DUKE looks for his third straight win at this level. He’s been doing it on the front end and there isn’t much speed on paper here. (6) ST LADS CASH owns a solid late kick and the short field tonight will ensure he’s never far off the leaders. (3) BRINGER OF RAIN pocketed up only to falter in the late stages at this level in his latest. Henry hops aboard tonight.
Race 6 - (6) WEB CAM drops in class after a disastrous journey last out. Macdonald hops aboard for the first time. He’s a solid value option. (5) DRAGON WAVE finished a good second when Kelly was at the reigns five starts back. Colin returns tonight. (3) FOREGO THE CIGAR rallied sharply to win last out and gets post relief to boot. He’s always at the mercy of the pace scenario, however.
Race 7 - (2) NORTHERN TAILWIND was used awfully hard for the entirety of the mile last time and still fought gamely. A clearer trip makes him dangerous. (1) BIG YELLOW gets major post relief from his last few outings. That along with Kelly returning should spur improvement. (5) ROYALTYS PEARL defeated a similar group last time. She’s back at the same level and rates high once again. (7) PASI VON BENTZ is making his third start off the bench and figures to step forward once again in form. (6) ADDYCOR ROYAL has just enough of a late kick to qualify as a value option in deeper gimmicks.
Race 8 - (4) UF BETTORS HANOVER won in his last start at this oval three starts back. He didn’t fare so well at Mohawk in his last two races, but he should improve here. (3) WINDSONG NAPOLEON continues to ride a positive form spree. Henry is back as well. (1) OCEANVIEW MAGNUM draws well and should be in line for a good trip as his form continues to improve.
Race 9 - (6) EASY FLYER nearly took a similar group all the way in his last. There isn’t a whole lot of speed on paper, and that works to this one’s advantage in a big way. (2) REAL WICKED has a solid late kick, but striking position has been this guy’s achilles heal. The post should help. (1) NEEDLECREST draws well and figures to be in the ballgame from the word go. He’s an idea option underneath.
Race 10 - (3) ROYAL CANVAS did trip out to win his latest but his previous efforts suggest he has a shot at a price. (2) CASIMIR OVERDRIVE did all the work before getting flagged down by the above last out. He draws well and is always knocking at the door at this level. (6) BETTORS MARK drops in class after a bit of a clunker last out. He defeated a tougher group three starts back. (7) EMPTYTHETILL continues to knock at the door at this level. He’s an ideal candidate to round out the gimmicks. (5) CONFLICT DIAMOND gets Kelly back after an even effort in his last. A similar effort puts him on the fringes here.
