Best Bet – (7) PRETTY HANDSOME – Race 8
Spot Play – (9) BRINYS A FLIRT - Race 1
Early Pick 4 – 1,2,3,8/7,8/1,4,6,7/3 = $6.40
Late Pick 4 – 5,8,9/7/5/1,4,5 = $1.80

Race 1- (9) BRINYS A FLIRT might be a good price play here as she has shown the speed required to clear from the outer post. Her dam was very quick off the gate, I’ll take a stab here. (4) BRA IN THE WIND looked good winning her debut and she should be a factor here, too. (5) UMPTEEN HANOVER goes for a top trotting trainer and she’s worth a look here.

Race 2 – (4) CANADIAN TITAN was third to a filly who has now won three straight including a recent Gold victory. This filly can beat these. (5) LUCKY WITCH is well-bred, and her final quarters put her in the mix here, but she needs a better start. (6) CRAVING YOU can improve on her opener where she also finished behind the same filly as the choice.

Race 3 – In a wide-open maiden trot, I’ll try (8) STONEBRIDGE MIMI, who improved sharply in her recent qualifier. (3) TRUE CUSTOM is one of only two horses on the page to break the 2:00 barrier – the other being (1) TANDEM. Both are likely capable here, but this should be the leg where you spread in the Pick 4.

Race 4 – (7) STRATEGIC THINKING has been hot at Hiawatha Horse Park and he should be able to carry that form forward here. (8) POGEY BEACH is an obvious contender on paper and he is hard to leave off Pick 4 tickets. (1) CARD SWAP can ride a good trip to a check here.

Race 5 – (4) BR SERENA SLAM showed good speed in her lone qualifier and she may lead these on a merry chase. (6) YEN had a useful opener at Mohawk Park, and she should improve here. (7) ST HELENS is another to consider for Pick 4 tickets in another wide-open race for young trotters.

Race 6 – (3) LOVE WARRIOR looks best here off her recent strong effort at Mohawk Park; top call. (5) TOURIST ATTRACTION finished three lengths back of the choice in that race. He can contend for a minor share here. (1) NORTHERN TAILWIND is capable of better and he can hit the ticket vs. these.

Race 7 – (9) HAVEN SEELSTER made two moves to win here June 30th and while she will need more speed here, she may be up to it. (8) ZEBS FLUR should improve off her Mohawk Park debut; using. (5) APHRODITE DUKE also had a good debut race and I’ll toss her in the Late Pick 4 ticket. (1) PIER HO KADO and (7) EMILY ANTIONETTE make their debuts and are worthy of High-5 consideration.

Race 8 – I don’t think there is any question that (7) PRETTY HANDSOME is currently the best horse on these grounds. Only a destructive trip gets him beat. (6) AMERICAN WIGGLE gave the choice a good tussle last week and he should be the one to chase down again. (1) FASHIONONTHEBEACH is in a great spot to trip out again and hit the board.

Race 9 – (5) WINE RACK HANOVER should take beating here if she drops any time off her Meadowlands qualifier. (1) SHESWILDNFREE showed promise in her lone qualifier and she can be right in the mix here. (9) PEPPAS ANGEL’s 27 2/5 kicker sticks out. Look for sharp improvement here.

Race 10 – (1) ARABELLAS CADET has been impressive racing uncovered on the rim and winning easily. A threepeat looms for this mare. (4) EDDY was solid in victory last time; using in the Pick 4. (5) ARCANUM is another who is in with a big shot in this competitive finale. (2) GREAT FARINI should improve enough here to land somewhere in the High 5 ticket. (6) ROSE RUN UNCLEBUCK is another who should be battling for a minor share.
